The communication interfaces in the construction form KUNBUS-COM were created as an evolution stage to the KUNBUS-IC modules. The version CC-Link includes optoelectronic couplers, bus drivers, microcontrollers, and memory, but also an SMC plug with 32 pins to control or application, as well as plug-in connectors for bus connection.

The connection of the COM module CC-Link is realized either via a cable or simply by plugging onto the control card. Because of the uniform pin-out of all COM modules, they can be replaced easily by other variants (for example DeviceNet, PROFIBUS , etc.). It then serves as CC-Link option card.
